Our people make the difference.
The dedicated Disability Team at McDonald Law Firm includes intake professionals, case managers and attorneys who have a deep understanding of the work necessary to get a claim approved.
A member of our Intake team will be the first point of contact you have with us. After gathering some basic contact information from you, we will ask you a series of questions about your situation to determine how we may best be able to help. This initial call takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
If we can help you with a claim, our Intake representative will send you paperwork to review and sign (online or by mail) and schedule a 30-minute call appointment with you to finalize your disability application.
Once your initial application or appeal is filed, you will be assigned a dedicated Case Manager to handle your claim. Your Case Manager will be your primary point of contact. As your claim progresses, your Case Manager may change to one who has specific expertise at your claim’s current stage.
Your Case Manager will communicate with SSA/DDS on your behalf and help prepare and submit any necessary documents needed to support your claim. They will also regularly contact you to update you on the status of your claim and check on any changes to your medical or work history.
If you are denied at both the Initial and Recon levels, you may request a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). In preparation for your hearing, your Case Manager will work with our Medical Records team to identify, request and submit all medical records that directly support your claim.
If your claim is set for hearing, an experienced Disability attorney will be assigned to you. They will work to gather statements, prepare briefs, skillfully question expert witnesses and present the strongest case possible to the ALJ. Prior to your hearing, your Case Manager and attorney will prepare you on what to expect during your hearing.
