Lupus affecting your livelihood?

Get Lupus Disability Benefits.

Lupus is an incurable, chronic, autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack and destroy healthy tissue — and it affects people differently.

For some, it causes minor discomfort. For others, it can be debilitating, leaving you too sick and tired to work and carry out daily activities.

If you or a loved one is suffering from lupus and has been (or is expected to be) out of work for at least a year, you could be eligible for Lupus Disability Benefits from the Social Security Administration. If approved, you will receive a monthly payment, medical coverage and, quite possibly, a lump sum of back pay.

Get Disability for Lupus - SSDHelpNow.com

Because there is a broad range of symptoms that may come and go, obtaining Lupus Disability Benefits can be tricky. The Disability attorneys at McDonald Law Firm have successfully represented people who have become disabled by lupus and we’re prepared to help you, too.

Lupus and Social Security Disability: Eligibility isn’t easy.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) recognizes lupus can be a disabling disease, but just because you have been diagnosed doesn’t mean you will automatically be awarded benefits. To qualify for benefits during the initial application stage, you must meet certain criteria including:

  • Lupus must severely affect at least two major organs, such as the kidneys, lungs, heart or brain.
    and
  • Lupus must be consistently accompanied by at least two of the following symptoms: fatigue, fever, malaise, involuntary weight loss or other “constitutional” symptoms.
    or
  • Lupus symptoms and complications have made it difficult or impossible to carry out daily activities, function socially or complete tasks in a timely manner.

Don’t meet the above criteria for Lupus Disability Benefits? Don’t worry.

If you don’t meet the above criteria, don’t be discouraged. If you can prove through detailed medical records that your condition is so debilitating that you cannot work any job, even a sedentary one, you could still be awarded benefits. The medical records should detail specific symptoms suffered on a daily basis and could include:

  • Skin rash
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Breathing problems
  • Fever
  • Sun sensitivity
  • Inflammation and joint pain

Denied Lupus Disability Benefits? Don’t give up.

Receiving a denial letter can be discouraging, but it’s not the end of the line. The next step is to appeal your denied Disability claim and, if you haven’t so already, enlist the services of an experienced Disability lawyer. Don’t delay, though.  You only have 60 days to file an appeal after you receive a denial from the Social Security Administration.

We’re here to help you get Lupus Disability benefits — and you can afford us.

Many people are intimidated by Disability firms, mostly because they don’t think they can afford a lawyer. At McDonald Law Firm, we work on contingency, which means you will never pay anything up-front. We only get paid if we are successful and, even then, our fee is taken directly by the federal government out of a portion of the back pay award. Whether you want to apply for the first time or appeal a denied decision, we can help. Talk to our Disability team today. Call 855-702-9061.
