Is an Aneurysm affecting your ability to work?

Get Aneurysm Disability Benefits.

An aneurysm is a balloon-like bulge in an artery. If the aneurysm grows large enough, it can weaken the artery wall which can lead to a tear or burst.  A burst causes dangerous bleeding inside the body and can be life-threatening.

Aneurysms can form in arteries of all sizes. They most commonly occur in the aorta, a major blood vessel about the size of a garden hose that carries blood from your heart to vital organs. They may also occur in a blood vessel supplying your brain, which can cause a stroke. They may also form in other blood vessels in your body, including in your legs, groin or neck.

If detected early, some people can manage aneurysms with medication and lifestyle modifications. Others suffer complications and may not be able to function as they once did, including working to support themselves and their family. This loss of income exacerbates their health crisis, often causing feelings of helplessness and despair.

Fortunately, there is an avenue for financial relief.

If you or a loved has an aneurysm and has been (or is expected to be) out of work for at least a year, you may be eligible for Aneurysm Disability benefits from the Social Security Administration (SSA). If approved, you will receive a monthly check, health insurance coverage and, quite possibly, a lump sum of accrued back pay.

Although these benefits can help make ends meet, the SSA doesn’t dole them out to anyone who asks. The Disability process can be long and complicated. You must present an abundance of evidence about your condition, work history, and limitations to prove you are disabled under the law ― a demanding task for someone who is unwell.

This is where we come in. The Disability lawyers and  team of professionals at McDonald Law Firm will handle the entire process for you. This includes gathering the necessary information, filling out dozens of pages of forms and submitting a comprehensive, compelling case on your behalf. If for some reason your case gets denied, we will appeal and, if necessary, represent you during a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge.

Our goal is to get you the maximum amount of benefits as quickly and as easily as possible. We’ll take care of the Disability process. You take care of yourself.

How does the Social Security Administration decide who qualifies for Aneurysm Disability benefits?

The Social Security Administration recognizes aneurysms can be disabling and, in severe cases, it will award benefits during the initial stage. To get approved at the beginning of the process, you must suffer from an aneurysm of the aorta or its major branches and meet the following criteria:

  • Your aneurysm has been identified by medical imaging such as a CT scan or MRI
    and
  • Dissection of the aneurysm can’t be controlled by any prescribed treatment.

An aneurysm with dissection is considered not controlled by treatment when you have:

  • Persistent chest pain.
  • An increase in the size of the aneurysm.
  • Compression of one or more branches of the aorta supplying the heart, brain, kidneys or other organs.

Don’t meet the SSA’s criteria for Aneurysm Disability? Don’t worry.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t meet the SSA’s listed criteria for Aneurysm Disability. If you can prove that your condition is so debilitating that you cannot perform your past job and are unable to transition to any other type of work, even sedentary work, you could still be awarded benefits.

Convincing the SSA that you can’t work at all can be difficult. The decision-makers will review all of your records, treatments, doctors’ notes, past work experience, age and limitations to assess your ability to work. The greater the evidence, the greater your chances of getting approved for benefits.

The Disability Team at McDonald Law Firm will work diligently to make sure that the SSA has all the information they need to understand the full scope of your limitations and inability to work.

Denied Disability for an aneurysm? Don’t give up.

Just because your application was denied doesn’t mean it’s the end of the line. The truth of the matter is that only 33 percent of applicants are awarded Disability benefits at the beginning of the process. The rest face a multi-step appeals process that requires more work and may involve a Disability hearing before an Administrative Law Judge.

The good news is that your chance for approval goes up further into the process. About 45 percent of applicants who have a Disability hearing are awarded benefits. The key is to stay the course and never give up.

The next step is to formally appeal your denied Disability claim within 60 days of receiving your denial notice. If you haven’t done so already, now would be the time to seek help from a skilled Social Security Disability lawyer. An experienced attorney will identify the reason for your denial and work to overcome it.

Yes, you can afford an experienced Disability lawyer.

Many people are reluctant to contact an experienced Social Security Disability lawyer because money is tight and they don’t think they can afford one. The reality is that you can get exceptional, legal representation right now.

At McDonald Law Firm, we work on contingency, which means we don’t get paid unless we win benefits for you. Even then, our one-time fee comes out of a portion the back pay award and is sent to us directly by the Social Security Administration. You will never pay anything up-front.

We realize that you and your family are probably experiencing physical, emotional and financial hardship right now. We will do everything in our power to help lessen the burden and make life a little easier. Speak to a compassionate member of our team today by calling 855-702-9061, or just fill out the form on this page and we’ll get in touch with you.
